I’ve taken these images from series of shots I got when I spent a fab long afternoon in the Drakenstein Lion Park (about 40kms outside Cape Town) a few weeks ago.I’ve been visiting the park for the last 4 years and have seen it grow massively (along with Shumba). Paul and the team (Thanks Wessel) look after lions that have been either abused in zoos or have been bred in petting zoo and destined for hunting lodges. You'll see from the pics that they've just saved a white cub. They do some wonderful work and deserve every support in looking after these truly beautiful animals. The entry fee to the park is ridiculously small and I’d really recommend just taking your time there. Don’t just rush in and rush out like most people do. The park is a fantastic mountain pass drive away from Franschoek and just outside Paarl. Go Visit, Support, Enjoy and adopt a beauty.

PS. I've embedded a video from the Park's website so yuo can see the place..
